Recent studies show that over 85% of young athletes aged 14 to 19 are unaware of how to identify their skills and career preferences, while more than 75% report a lack of resources tailored to their dual career development. Recognizing these challenges, the SMART START for DC project offers a comprehensive solution designed specifically for young student-athletes.
Through a structured digital platform, participants will undergo an assessment to identify professional inclinations, receive tailored educational, lifelong learning, and career-oriented recommendations, and engage in high-quality MOOC education to build essential transferable skills. This project empowers young athletes to proactively prepare for future career opportunities while continuing to excel in sports, ensuring their successful integration into the labor market after their athletic careers. Enrollment in the program offers a unique opportunity to gain a competitive advantage in both sports and professional life.
